Automate with the API, MCP and the project format
Advanced 6 min
Call every check from scripts or AI agents, and hand a ready-made project to a person through a #project= link.
Every check of Signalhouse is a regular usefulweb tool with a JSON API, an OpenAPI description and an MCP tool. Signalhouse calls them on its own host (/api/v1/tools/<tool>/calculate), so the same requests work from your scripts.
Call a tool
curl -s -X POST https://signalhouse.usefulweb.site/api/v1/tools/dns-certificate-explorer/calculate \
-H 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"domain":"example.com","certificateTransparency":false}'
The answer is the normal result envelope: summary, result, presentation, warnings and links.human (the tool page). Network tools share a limit of 15 calls per minute per client; a 429 answer carries retry-after.
The full list of tools is under Help → API, MCP and project format… and on the landing page (Built-in tools). The MCP endpoint is /mcp on the app host.
Build a project for a person
The project format is documented at /project.schema.json. The smallest valid project:
{
"format": "signalhouse",
"version": 1,
"name": "Domains of ACME",
"targets": [{ "domain": "acme.example" }, { "domain": "shop.acme.example", "tags": ["shop"] }],
"settings": { "suite": ["dns", "mail", "http", "ipv6"] }
}
Encode the JSON as base64url and open https://signalhouse.usefulweb.site/app#project=<data>. The person gets the project in their browser and presses Run all. Results stay with them; agents can include earlier results in runs, which Signalhouse validates like any imported file.
Hand results onwards
- Export → Results (JSON) — latest results, findings and renewal dates per domain.
- Export → Findings (CSV) and Scorecard (CSV) — tables for spreadsheets.
- Export → Markdown report — for wikis and tickets.
- The App Bridge items in the Export menu open the scorecard or findings table, the JSON results or the Markdown report directly in another premium app in the same browser — nothing is uploaded.
Signalhouse also receives domain lists: tables or text handed over by other apps or tool result pages (for example the subdomain table of the Certificate Transparency explorer) open the Add targets dialog pre-filled.
